Part 1 of our 4 part winter series.
Steam: The Curl-Softening Secret
Winter’s dry air can leave curls thirsty, but gentle steam helps open your cuticles so moisture can sink right in. After you've washed your curls TWICE (yes twice!), pop your wet LOHY. Cold Shoulder Guard and pop it in the microwave for 2 minutes.
Mask & Unwind
With your curls warm and receptive, apply a rich deep conditioning mask like Drench & Quench from mid-lengths to ends. Gently detangle using the Flexi Brush, and with your hot (but touchable) shoulder guard gather your hair loosely into the neck towel. While your mask works, light a candle, listen to music, pop on a face mask or do absolutely nothing — because pampering shouldn’t feel like a task.
Seal it in
Finish by smoothing a few drops of Hush Nourishing Oil over your ends once your hair is dry. This locks in all that juicy hydration and helps keep winter frizz at bay.

💬 Q&A: Curl Spa Day Edition
Q: Can I steam my curls too often?
A: Once a week is perfect for most curl types. Too much steam can over-soften fine hair — think of it as a treat, not a daily step.
Q: Do I really need to use oil after?
A: You don't. but it certainly helps. Oil helps seal in moisture in your ends — so your spa day results actually last.
Q: I have Type 3c Hair, will steam hurt my curls? Not at all! In fact, steam treatments are perfect for coarser hair types because they require extra hydration!
Your curls deserve a little ritual. Grab your Cold Shoulder Guard, pour that tea, and make your next wash day feel like self-care — not just hair care.
